Share Obsidian notes.
Keep the keys.
Right-click any note, choose Share encrypted note via URL, and send the link. Your note is encrypted inside Obsidian and decrypted only in your reader's browser — we never see a single word.
#. Browsers never transmit it, so it stays between you and your reader.Three steps, zero trust required
Everything sensitive happens on your devices. The server is a dumb mailbox for ciphertext.
Encrypt in Obsidian
The plugin generates a random 256-bit key for the note and encrypts the Markdown locally with AES-GCM.
Upload ciphertext
Only the encrypted blob is uploaded. The server replies with a unique link — it never receives the key or the title.
Decrypt in the browser
Your reader opens the link; their browser pulls the blob and decrypts it with the key from the #fragment.
Private by architecture, not by promise
Even if this server were compromised, your notes would remain unreadable.
Keys never touch the server
Keys are created in Obsidian and live only in your vault's plugin data and in the link you share.
Content is opaque to us
We store a random ID and an encrypted blob. Not the title, not the text, not the filename.
No third-party scripts
A strict Content-Security-Policy allows only our own audited code to run next to the key. No analytics, no CDNs, no fonts from elsewhere.
Update without new links
Edited the note? Share again — same link, fresh ciphertext. Only you hold the edit token that allows overwriting.
